Congratulations to Wade Kelly from Charles Sturt University who is this year’s winner of the ResearchMaster QPR Conference Student Sponsorship. Quality in Postgraduate Research (QPR) is the world’s biggest and longest-standing conference on doctoral education.
Wade is a PhD candidate with a focus on how and why universities and academics engage with the community. Wade was a founder of Nerd Nite in Edmonton, Canada, and introduced Nerd Nite to Wagga Wagga in 2015. Nerd Nite brings nerdy (often academic) topics to the masses in playful, accessible, insightful and thought provoking ways.
From 130 applications, Wade was chosen for his active involvement in his university community together with his focus on how PhD students in Australia are being prepared for the research impact measures being introduced in Australia in 2017.
The sponsorship includes an economy class airfare, local accommodation, and full registration to the QPR Conference including attendance to all sessions and the welcome reception.
